DAM Sire Military Plume by Sr Tristram
||2nd Pre Nov 3Day event Dec 2009
||61 official pts now elementary
||confidently jumping 1.20
Farns is now jumping easily up to 1.20 and schooling 1*. He is ready to compete SJ 1.15 and Elementary dressage.
He will be campagned this season by Clarendon Park trainee Joe Waldron untill a good competition home is found for him.
Farnsy was bred at Chance Lodge as a performance horse. He will not be raced.
Farnsy has fantastic TB jumping bloodlines with his sire Family Ties, the sire of Eros who competed for the USA as a jumper at Atlanta Olympics, Liaisons - winner of CCI* Eventing in his first year and winner of ShowJumping World Cups in Australia and Europe, Matt Ryan's CCI 4* horse, Bonza Puzzle William Fox-Pitt's CCI*** horse Coastal Ties Nic Roe's Advanced King George...to name just a few...)
His Dam, a Sir Tristram (another proven sire of jumpers) mare is the dam of my 6yr old Chances Tristram who is winning in Dressage with 106 pts and Eventing to Pre Novice.
Farnsy has been broken in, gelded and has moved to Clarendon Park in SA to grow and develop while being lightly schooled on the flat.
Farns is going well under saddle with a huge overtrack at the walk a good ground covering trot and a fantastic canter - as you would expect with those bloodlines. We look forward to getting him out to some associate dressage days in the New Year and will commence his jump training as a 4 yr old.
Farns has been on his first couple of adventures
Farns went on the truck to Reynella Horse Trials course and worked well in the dressage arena, worked around the x-c course and had his first taste of walking then jumping - into water. He took to it like the proverbial duck and had a trot and pop over a couple of small fences along the way!
His second outing was to Metro showjump Club next to Adelaide airport. He was great standing quitely tied up to the truck and working well when ridden. He will continue to come along to various outings and do some unoficial dressage in the next month.
Farns wins at his first Official outing !
Farnham won both the official 1.1 and 1.3 with percentages of 68.83% and 67% respectively at the SA Dressage Club day on 26th Feb
He is also showing a lot of talent over fences and will be competing both Showjumping and Eventing in the next couple of months
Farns has now been to 2 more dressage days winning both the 1.1 and 1.3 at SADA on the 2nd April.
He followed up the next week (9th April) with a very close 2nd in the 1.1 at AHDC on 71.25% in a big class.
Over winter Farns has been schooling and competing at showjumping freshmen days forgood clear rounds and placings. He has a scopey careful jump and is a lovely balanced ride.
SA SPring Dressage Champs
Farns was great- only 20 mins warm up and taking all the atmosphere in his stride. He was 3rd on in a large quality field of 30+ in the Prelim on 67.3%
SADA 7th Jan 2007
Farns ad a sucessful start to 2007 with a win in the 1.2 on 70%, 2nd in the 2.2 to my other ride on 64% and 3rd in the 1.4 on 6o%.
AHDC 14th Jan 2007
Due to getting points too quickly, we decided to go HC at this competition - a good thing as he would have won the 1.3 on 66.8% and 2nd in the 2.3 on 66.4%.
There were good entries in both classes and Farns is improving each start.
If not HC he would now be graded Elementary. I will enter him for the Dressage Chams in March and work towards an elementary start after that.
Adelaide Hills Dressage Club Combined Training
Farns was a star at his first jumping outing of the season! He did a lovely 2.2 test to be winning the dressage in a large field of 30+ by a large margin on a 73% .
The showjumping was great with a lovely fluid, carful clear to finish in the lead by quite a way.
SA Dressage Champs
Farns did a great 1.3 test coming 2nd in a strong field of 30 .
First Eventing Start Friends of Werribee
At Farn's first ODE start, he finished a very close 3rd . With a winning dressage of 73% he went on to complete a super clear sj round indoors and cantered around the xc like an old hand jumping everything with feet to spare. 6 time penalties xc dropped us to 3rd but the run was lovely. He has a great snaffle mouth and is a pleasure to ride.
EI hit during the above competition at Werribee Park and Farns had an enforced 5 montholiday.
Winning ways in 2008
In 2008 , Farns has gone very well winning the Novice 2.4 at the State Dressage Champs and also winning at the State Eventing Champs at Narracoorte.
Due to my involvement running the Aus 3 Day event, i have not been competing so have decided to have Farns competed by our trainee, Joeseph Waldron.
His first start ith farns was Narracoorte where he came 5th with a 71% dressage, lovely clear showjumping and xc - but time penalties for going a little fast saw him drop from his wining spot after dr and sj.
He is ready to go up th grades with Joe until a good competition home is found for him.
Farnham 2nd by 1.2 at his first PN 3 Day Event
Farnham went to Lakes and Craters 3DE 2009 with our trainee Joe Waldron riding. He did a lovely dressage test to be in close 2nd place followed by a super clear cross country. Joe wasn't woried about time on this hilly course but Farns came in only 4 secs over optimum for 2.4 time penalties . A great careful clear round saw him end up second by only 1.3! Farns pulled up beautifully and is confidently jumping 1.20 at home and ready to compete 1.15 showjumping and elementary dressage.
A great way to finish 2009 .
Farnsy has continued to go well . Winning and Placing in Showjumping, Elementary dressage and PN Eventing.
He still has not had a rail in Eventing showjumping and is jumping very confidently and cleanly both crosscountry and showjumping.
Farnham is for sale as his rider has sadly outgrown him!
Farnham is a reliable good jumper with a snaffle mouth and well established on the flat.
Realistically priced for a horse of his type, performance and ability.
Ideally suited to a talented and experienced junior or small adult wanting a horse that is competitive in showjumping, eventing dressage and interschool - a great allrounder with plenty of jumping ability as his breeding would suggest!.
To a lovely home in Victoria
